Capacitive reactance is an opposition to the change of voltage across an element. Capacitive reactance XC is inversely proportional to the signal frequency f (or angular frequency ω) and the capacitance C.

    I want to ask you something very urgent.

    I have a microwave with a faulty HV Capacitor rated 2100 volts/1.15 mf.

    I have another capacitor lying around with the rating 2100volts/ 1 mf.

    Can i use the 1mf cap instead of the 1.15mf cap? The voltage rating being the same.

    I'll be very thankful if you could reply asap.

    1. Anirudh, according to me there's no harm in replacing the 1.15uF with 1uF since their values are almost similar and voltage ratings are identical.
